crazy sunday!

Our Sundays are always packed to the brim.

I did my hair up nice... (it is driving me crazy lately!)

finished up my sister's birthday surprise...

set up the birthday table at my mom and dad's house...

And photographed the birthday girl getting a birthday kiss...

Pictures of Halloween!

I thought that dressing Cash up as Max from Where the Wild Things Are, was a great idea because it was unique and something he could look back on and be excited about---rather than be like, You dressed me up as a _______?!?!?!? (<----insert weird costume here)

And since he's too young to decide for himself yet, I went with the coolest things I could think of :)

(Please don't judge me in this photo, I was sick)

bad blogger!

UGH.

This week has not been my week!
But I am looking forward to wiping the slate clean and moving right along :)

And I have the perfect things to move along to this weekend:

#1 I am hosting a crafting day at my apartment on Saturday and I am SO EXCITED!

#2 Owen and I are hosting a "Listening Party" Saturday evening for his new album for the band + families + people who have helped, another SO EXCITED!

(Being released sometime in December!)

After feeling better yesterday I finished sewing Cash's crib bumpers (FINALLY) and I cleaned my kitchen :) Both things made me feel even better after coming down from my 102 fever!

I know I sound like a bad mommy just finishing his bumpers, but it took me forever to find the fabric I wanted (two weeks before his due date) and then he was born a week early + we were moving...and then we just had a new baby and I couldn't juggle everything plus make some bumpers from scratch (he has a round bassinet that converts to an oval crib, it is now in crib form, and I had to make custom on-the-fly bumpers for it.) They're not perfect, but I like them and I'll try to post some picturas soon!

Want to do something that would mean a lot to me?
Well, as you know my husband plays music as himself Owen Pye, BUT he also plays music in another band called Ekkardia.

(It's the same guys that play in "The Sunday School Band" with him, just a different set up)

They play worship at our church a lot as well as all around the area at different events and they need your help right now to win a sweet contest. <---you can vote for them there. And you can also read about the contest here. It takes a little bit of effort, you have to register--BUT it could mean so much for them as a band. Take a minute to listen to their song and please VOTE! :) I would also be indebted to you if perhaps you would re-blog about this, tweet about it, facebook it---whatever you can to help! Another annoying detail--You can vote EVERYDAY! Awesome because it improves their chance for votes, not awesome because you know what I'm going to do: Will you try to vote for them everyday? Make it part of your online ritual! And the voting doesn't last forever so you know it will end eventually! :)

What do you need for me to convince you to vote? Know that I am right along with you, voting everyday! You can friend me on there, my screen name is Jpye and we can vote together! I know I'm sounding like a crazy person and this is getting super monotonous, so I'm going to stop. But don't think I'm not going to remind you! lol. Okay.
that's all.

THANKS GUYS! You're the BEST!

not so great, how are you?

So if you've been to our new apartment, you know that our steps are epically long, steep, etc.
And Sunday night I had the pleasure of falling down them.
Yep.

I know, thank Jesus I wasn't holding Cash...I was just heading down to the basement to finish the laundry that was started earlier in the day. I was tired and forcing myself to go do it to be, "a good mommy..."

I ended up in a pile 3 stairs from the bottom with splinters in my hands, a sock soaked in blood and red scrapes all over. :(

Surprisingly the next day I felt okay, sore, bruises were showing up---a nice 6 inch purple one on my butt...but, I felt better than I thought I would.

Fast forward to Tuesday and today---my whole body aches, my neck is so stiff I can hardly move it, my head feels like an anvil was dropped on it, and every time I pick Cash up my right elbow locks into place and hurts really bad. I could go on and on but I won't.

Let's just say I feel like total poo. And I'm hostessing two events this Saturday that I need to prepare for. I mean, I would like my house to be at least a little clean and I promised food to people so that would be good too. Man alive.

I hope today is my last day of intense pain or I'm a goner.

Sorry :(

Apologies for no blog posts or updates...
remember when I said Owen was sick? Well Thursday night I got sick too!
I had chills, a massive head ache, stomach pains and a fever.

Luckily it is now Sunday and I feel right back to normal.
As well as our sickness, lately Cash has been giving us a run for our money at night---He hasn't been sleeping well at all. (boo) So I thought it was a miracle when I woke up this morning and Cash had slept his 8 hours without a peep! Maybe that's why I feel so good? So cross your fingers that this is not a fluke and that my little man's sleeping habits are back and here to stay!

This is what my sickie weekend consisted of:

Hope you had a nice Halloween :)

Fear not...

Chipper me is back.
It feels like I have a mini-meltdown just about every other day.
not cool.

I pulled out my sweet mother's day present from Owen (he said it counted even though I was only pregnant---technically a mommy and therefore celebrated) So sweet!
It's a vintage Brother sewing machine that I spotted at our small town flea market-esque thinger in Highland. I know you're not supposed to know how much a present is, but he scored it for $5---sometimes people don't know what they've got!

I have been cleaning it up and getting excited to try it out...I want to find a manual for it, perhaps I can match the serial numbers and find something.

I am in LOVE with this machine. By far one of the best presents I have ever received. He's good ladies, what can I say?

Also, I received a wonderful package in the mail from my dear friend Maggie, and it totally brightened my day! How did she know that I love Chi?! No longer working at a salon has really put a damper on my hair product happiness...I would DIE to be able to buy Biolage at the prices that I used to.

Thanks lady! What a great Mommy present! I hope you get your present for Caroline in the mail soon :) I sent it a couple day ago.

Also in the package were the head bands that I didn't sell in Shelbyville,
So I got to list them on my etsy. I sold one of my favorites last night. It was a black felt rosette with rhinestones...so simple, yet chic.

These are a couple of my other favorites:
(actually I really loved all of those that I sent...)

I'm worn out and spread thin...

the title says it all.

Do you ever feel like you're putting everything you've got out there and its still not enough?
I'm not really in the mood to be told to cheer up, or that things will get better, or how blessed I am.

I know these things.
But being patient is wearing me down.

I need God to whisper in my ear.
I want to see and feel the change.

Sometimes you just need things for your sanity.
